FAQ and Pricing

I have no idea what sort of wedding cake I want. Can you help?
Most definitely…and don’t panic! Some people know exactly what they want, others have a few ideas and some don’t know where to start. Couples often bring colour swatches, details from their wedding attire or pictures of floral arrangements to their consultation which can sometimes help guide design decisions. We can also browse through my portfolio and mark what you do and don’t like. I will work with you to create something special that will leave you with lasting memories for years to come.
Pricing - how much does a wedding cake cost?

As each cake is unique and made exclusively to your specification, final prices are quoted on an individual basis. There are a number of factors to take into consideration, including how many guests you need to serve, portion sizes, the number of tiers and the complexity of your wedding cake design. As a guide, please see below:

Semi naked cakes:

  • 3 tier – from £600.00
  • 4 tier – from £730.00

Sugarpaste/Ganache cakes:

  • 3 tier – from £640.00
  • 4 tier – from £850.00

Prices include some design elements. A final quote will be provided once your cake has been designed. Delivery and set up charges are additional and are based on the location of your venue.

Do you require a deposit?
A 50% deposit is requested once all the details of your cake have been finalised. The balance is requested one month prior to your event.  If you would like to hold your wedding date prior to finalising the details of your wedding cake, you can do so by making a deposit payment of £200.00. We can then discuss the design and flavour of your cake at a later date.
Will ‘dummy’ tiers reduce the price of my cake?
As most of the cost is in planning, designing and decorating your cake, a 5-tier cake with 3 tiers of real cake will still be closer to a 5-tier price than a 3-tier price. Although ‘dummy’ tiers may not reduce the price significantly, they are extremely effective at adding height and that additional wow factor.
When can I taste the cakes?
This is a really important step in the consultation process – I love working with delicious flavours and want you to adore my cakes as much as I do! Once we have a design in mind, a tasting consultation can be arranged. There is a small, non-refundable, fee of £30.00 for the cake tasting, which will be deducted from your final quote should you wish to go ahead with your wedding cake. If you’ve got a busy schedule or are not based in London, I can arrange for samples to be couriered to any UK address that is convenient to you.
Can I choose more than one flavour for my wedding cake?
Of course! You can have as many flavours as you have tiers, which is perfect if you would like to offer a variety to your guests.
Do you make cakes for special diets?
I do! Many of my recipes can be adapted to suit special dietary requirements, including egg free, nut free, gluten free and dairy free diets.  Please note, however, that although every attempt will be made to ensure your cake suits your dietary needs, I work in a kitchen where eggs, nuts and gluten are used and so cannot guarantee that your cake will be entirely free from traces of allergens.
Do you offer a delivery and set up service?
Absolutely – in fact, this is an integral part of my service to you. Prices are dependent on location.
I do not live in London and will not be getting married in London, can you still make my wedding cake?
I regularly deliver wedding cakes to the Home Counties and have delivered a wedding cake as far as Yorkshire. As long as my schedule allows, and subject to a minimum order amount, I can deliver and set up your wedding cake wherever you are in the UK.
Do you make anything other than wedding cakes?
Yes I do – I offer a stunning array of favours, including iced biscuits, macarons, meringues and cupcakes to name a few. I have also taken on commissions for celebration cakes – some images of these can be found in my gallery and on my social media pages.
